The Life of JOYCE HENRIETTA ANDERSON

Joyce H. Anderson, 67, of Clive went home to be with Jesus Christ, her Savior, on January 6th, 2014.
Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, she was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. She earned an associates degree from Grand View University.

Joyce was a Homemaker in Des Moines. She was an active member of Grandview Park Baptist Church for many years. She served there as both the Awana Sparks secretary and a Sunday school teacher for the four and five year olds.  She was most recently a member of Grace Church.

Joyce enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning vegetables and making jelly and pickles.  She like Iowa Hawkeye football, vacationing, concerts and eating out with friends.  She loved her family.  Joyce will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, James D. Best Sr. and A. Louise Addington (Best) of Des Moines and her brother, James D. Best Jr. (Ruth). She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steven; daughter, Rachelle (Jeremy) Barton of Clive and son, Ryan (Rachel) Anderson of Pleasant Hill. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Callahan, Carver and Campbell Barton and Brandt, Allegra and Tate Anderson; a sister, Janice Reeves of Idalou TX; plus several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, January 10, at Grace Church, 4200 E 25th, Des Moines, at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions should be directed to Grace Church.
