The Life of James P. Robinson
James Perry Robinson “Pee-Wee” made his heavenly transition on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in the Hospice Care Unit at Summa Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born on July 26, 1938 in Nashville, Tennessee to Lundy and Ernestine Robinson. He moved to Akron, OH in 1950. He joined the Air Force in 1955 to 1959. He worked at Brecksville Hospital, Chrysler Motor Company, Plastikote, and B.R. Johnson Cleaning Service.
In this life he was proud to be known as “Dad”, “Daddy”, “Uncle PeeWee”, “Granddad”, and “PeeWee”. He loved his children and grandchildren and spent every moment letting you know it. James treated everyone like family and didn’t hesitate to show you. He was a kind, strong, humble, and independent man.
James was also an amazing man, a loving and devoted father. He touched the hearts of many friends. James always knew what to do. He was wise and gave the best advice.
James was preceded in death by parents, Lundy and Ernestine Robinson; brothers, Tyrone and Larry Robinson; and sister, Jennie Smith.
James is survived by sons, James Perry Robinson, Jr., Tracy Robinson, Marlin (Shonta) Brooks, and Jermaine Brooks; daughters, Toni (Stephen) Beasley, and Shelley Robinson; brothers, Lundy Jr. (Brenda) Robinson and Thomas Robinson; sister, Freddie Mae Brooks, of Nashville, TN, Carol Williams and Barbara Terrell; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Rev. John Jackson, Sr. officiating. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Procession will form at 1028 Mercer Ave., and condolences may be sent to 1590 Thurston, Akron, OH 44320
