The Life of Bertha Singletary

Bertha L. Jones (Singletary), 67, was born on December 7, 1945 to William and Emma Jones in Hazelhurst, Mississippi. She attended Akron Public Schools and was an active member of United Baptist Church where she served on the Kitchen Committee. She has worked various jobs and retired from Alside Window Company. She was currently employed at McDonalds.  

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Emma D. Jones, husband, Willie (Butch) Singletary, daughters, Bridgette and Agnes Peoples, sister, Geraldine Ware, brother William Jones, and nephew, Corey Ware.

She leaves to mourn her passing, daughters, Danette and Stephanie Peoples of Akron, OH; grandsons, Darkeevin (Ashley) Peoples, Fort Wayne, IN, Reginald Bolding Jr., Phoenix, AZ, Darius and Jordan Peoples, Akron, OH, and the love of her life, only granddaughter, Janae Jermaine Peoples; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Brydine Coleman, Vera Fuller and Faye Hood all of Akron, OH, Therrell Davis of Hazelhurst, MI; brother, Solomon (Ramona) Jones of Akron, OH; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many friends; and special friend, Willis Morris.

Service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at United Baptist Church, 1007 S. Hawkins Ave., Akron, OH 44320, Rev. Kevin Rushing officiating. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery.  Friends may visit at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.  Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 174 Shelby Ave., Akron, OH 44310.
