The Life of JO ANNE WESTROM
Jo Anne Westrom, 77, was born April 30, 1936, in Anamosa, the daughter of Thomas and Rhena Powers. She passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013, at Mitchell Village Care Center.
Jo Anne worked at Brenco Automation as a key punch operator and later at Merle Hay Lanes and was an avid bowler.
Jo Anne is survived by her sons, Tom (Ginger) Westrom and William Westrom; step-children, Mark (Judy) Westrom, Mary Ellen (Dan) Oberender, John R. Westrom, Susan Westrom (Frank) and Christopher Westrom; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley John Westrom; and brothers, George, Jack, Bill and Harry Powers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines; with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospice in loving memory of Jo Anne.
