The Life of DONNA JEAN WALLACE
Donna Jean Wallace was born March 11, 1925 in Anita, Iowa to Clarence and Edith Mattheis. She will be remembered by her family and everyone fortunate enough to have known her as a warm, nurturing woman. She loved her family and was an amazing grandmother. Donna was extremely hard working. She enjoyed sewing and baking along with hunting for bargains at garage sales. Many memories were made camping and traveling with her beloved husband of 65 years, Raymond.
Donna passed away peacefully Monday, October 28, 2013 at Taylor House Hospice. She was 88 years old. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Carla) of Bondurant, son, Duane (Cheryl) of Des Moines, and daughter, Marla (Gary) Grove of Runnells. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Ross of San Diego, CA, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raymond.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St SW, Altoona. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 1 followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
