The Life of Ladislau Torday

Ladislau "Bill" Torday, 95, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2013, at Birmingham Health Care in Derby. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Caiazzo Torday. Mr. Torday was born in Bridgeport on Oct. 21, 1917, son of the late Gustave and Rose Torday. Bill was a resident of Bridgeport before moving to Ansonia 10 years ago. He was employed as a machinist at the former Bridgeport Machines for many years until his retirement and was a classic car and muscle car enthusiast. He is survived by a son, Allen Torday (Betty) of Ansonia, two daughters, Laura Knutson (Curt) of Bethlehem and List T. Franco (Michael) of Beacon Falls, three grandchildren, Christine McNeil (John) of Ansonia, Melissa Silver (Tim) of Milford and Michael Franco (Nicole) of Naugatuck, four great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Cassidy McNeil, Austin Silver, and Adele Franco and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Chonka. Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday July 24, 2013, from 4-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service and celebration of Bill''s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Private interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
