The Life of INA JEAN DAVIS

Ina “Jean” Davis was born October 13, 1928, in Decatur, IL, to parents Keith and Betty Evans. She passed away on September 22, 2013, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA, surrounded by her loving family. Jean moved to Iowa in 1943, and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1946. On August 20, 1948, she was united in marriage to Roy J. Davis at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They had three children, Peggy (John) Toppenberg, Steve Davis, and Betsy (Steve) Davis-Noland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, a brother, Bill Evans, and a sister, Doris Wells. Jean is survived by a brother, Roger (Jean) Evans, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was very close to the Gephart family in Minnesota, whose children also called her grandma. Jean was an active and dedicated member of Highland Park Christian Church in Des Moines since 1956, where she served in a variety of positions. She also volunteered for many community organizations. A memorial service will be held at Highland Park Christian Church at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Highland Park Christian Church.>>
