The Life of Earl Tinney

Earl Tinney, a 101 year old New Haven resident, formerly of Ansonia and beloved husband to the late Grace Goldson Tinney, went home to be with The Lord on Sept. 14. He was born June 10, 1912 in Watertown, CT., son of the late William & Estelle Demmons Tinney. Earl worked as a carpenter for Farrel Corp. in Ansonia for over 40 years, and was a member of the Farrel Old Timers Club. He also worked as a janitor in the Ansonia School System. He was a lifelong active member of The Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia and a member of the former Copper City Lodge of Elks. He was currently a member of The East Rock Lodge of Elks in New Haven. He is survived by his daughter Carol Tinney Stanley of Ansonia, grandson Earl Stanley of Ansonia, 4 granddaughters, Gayle Stanley, with whom he resided, Sharon Grant, also in New Haven, Lori Wade of Willimantic, JoAnne Stanley of Clearwater, FL, 12 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren & 2 great great great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia. Friends may call on Friday at church, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St., Ansonia is entrusted with arrangements.
