The Life of LaVerne M Rubus

LaVerne Mae (Boege) Rubus, 80, passed away peacefully early Monday, Sept. 2, 2013.She was born June 26, 1933, in Cleveland, the daughter of Harry and Lillian (Schroeder) Boege.LaVerne was a 1951 graduate of John Hay High School. She worked for more than 20 years as an administrative assistant for Curtis Industries.On Dec. 21, 1957, she married Robert D. Rubus, her loving and devoted husband for more than 55 years.LaVerne liked to crochet, write poetry and read, but the times she most enjoyed in life were those times she spent with her loving family, especially her grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughters: Lillian Loach, Debbie (Julian) Lewis, Theresa (Michael) Burns and Rachel (Wayne) Luetjes; her grandchildren, Jamie Loach and Jake, Jesse and Cami Burns; and her sister, Beverley (James) Lewis.She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Dorothy Hunter.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake. Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4.>>
