The Life of WILLIAM CHESTER CORNWELL
William Cornwell, 83, was born in Saylor Township, Iowa, on February 28, 1930, to Chester and Marie Cornwell. He passed away August 21, 2013, at his home in Des Moines, Iowa.
William was an Army Veteran, proudly serving his country from 1951 to 1953. He retired from Meredith Corporation as a Pressman in 1991. William enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
William is survived by his children, Bruce Cornwell, Beverly Randell, Brenda Densmore, and Becky Bennett; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Ray Cornwell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, and siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
