The Life of JOSEPH JOHN HALE

Joseph John Hale passed away on August 2, 2013, in Ankeny, IA. He was born in Des Moines on February 8, 1983, to John and Gina Hale.

Everyone who knew Joe loved Joe. He was willing to do anything for anyone and will be remembered for his kind spirit and generosity. His happiest moments were spent four wheeling, using the skid loader at the farm, spending time at the family lake house, and going on his yearly snowmobile trips. He could always be found tinkering around in his garage fixing and building things with his friends.

Joe enjoyed being the fun loving “uncle Joey” to his four nieces and nephews. He had always looked forward to becoming a father and when his daughter Lexi was born, he was the proudest he had ever been. We know that Joe is finally at peace in heaven and in the arms of angels, keeping a close eye on us all.

Joe is survived by his mother and father, Gina and John Hale. His daughter, Alexis Rose (Erica Weir); his brother, Mike Hale (Heather Anderson); sister, Lisa Cowart (Josh); nieces and nephews, Taylor Hale, Samuel, Louis and Aria Cowart; his grandparents, Bev and Greg Barber; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Clarice Hale, and Sam Lorenzano.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to Orchard Place, 2116 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 8 at 10 a.m. at the church.

“Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear.”
