The Life of Anna Mae Pavy

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Anna Mae Waguespack Pavy, age 89, who died on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Cornerstone Village South in Lafayette surrounded by her family. Interment will be in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery. Reverend Louis J. Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Service. Con Celebrant will be Reverend F. Hampton Davis III, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lafayette. Lectors will be Nancy Pavy and Edith Pavy Beam. Giftbearers will be Lily Pavy, Annabelle Pavy and Cathi Pavy. Eulogist will be Camille Claibourne and Bob Pavy. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Dr. Robert L. Pavy, Sr.; two daughters, Edith Ann Beam and her husband Bryan, and Camille Claibourne and her husband Bill; two sons, Robert "Bob" Pavy, Jr., and his wife Nancy, and Francis Pavy and his wife Cathi; five grandchildren, Robert "Trey" Pavy III, Matthew Penn Pavy, Lily Paige Pavy, Annabelle Rose Camille Pavy and Andrew James Beam; six great grandchildren, Anna Grace, Laura Louise,Selby Jane, Louis, Silas and Isaac Pavy; three sisters, Tillie Nugent, Honorine Becnel, and Ramona Veillon and one brother, Herman Waguespack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Rosney Waguespack and the former, Cecilia Marie Schexnaydre; one brother, Joe Waguespack; four sisters, Grace Trosclair, Bessie Haydel, Cecilia Faucheux, and Etheline Troxclair. Mrs. Pavy was born on February 29, 1924 in Vacherie, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for 59 years. She graduated from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans in 1946 where she was the Editor of the Yearbook. She worked as a Registered Nurse in the New Orleans Charity ER and was a Supervisor at the hospital. Mrs. Pavy was a member of the Lafayette Parish Medical Auxiliary, she served on the Krewe of Attakapas Board, a member of the Ladies Altar Society at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, member of the L''Avanier Club and a member of the Nimble Thimbles. She loved sewing, gardening, cooking and taking care of her family. Pallbearers will be Matthew Penn Pavy, Trey Pavy, Bryan Beam, Andrew Beam, Francis Pavy and Bill Claibourne. The family requests that visitation be observed at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
