The Life of MARY ELLEN GUIZZETTI
Mary Ellen Guizzetti (Meadows), 90, of Urbandale, passed away on July 18, 2013, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013, at 2:00 pm, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mary was born on December 29, 1922, in Ogden, Iowa, to John and Rosetta (Guthrie) Meadows. She grew up in the Ogden and Boone areas, graduating from Boone High School.
She wed Jim Guizzetti on December 31, 1953, and spent her life caring for their family and home. Mary will best be remembered for the loving care she provided and for the countless examples of generosity, strength and grace she demonstrated simply by the way in which she lived. She lived her life for those she loved and left an indelible mark on each and every person who loved her in return. She will be missed beyond measure.
Mary is survived by her four children; Sandra Parisho, Susanne Rieger, and Michael Guizzetti of Des Moines, Gary Parisho (Julie) of New Virginia; her grandchildren, Kelley Rice, Pat Ball (Kim), Stacie Hukill, Christine VerHelst (Rod), and Shannon Parisho, all of Des Moines, Jeni Sauvaine of Ankeny, and Jaime Mullane (Gary) of Boston, MA; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory are grateful to have been loved by her. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years and the love of her life, Jim Guizzetti, her parents, six brothers, three sisters, and one great grandchild.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving and compassionate care provide by Mercy Hospice, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Hospice in memory of Mary.
