The Life of GEORGE A HELLER

George A. "Pepper" Heller 93, of Reading, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in Berks Heim Nursing Home in Leesport. He was the loving husband of Josephine Heller.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Frank and Ada (Rentschler) Heller. George graduated from Reading High in 1941 and was a member of the United States Army during WWII.

He was also a member of of St. Joseph R.C.C. in Reading. He was also a member of the Philatelic Society and a member of the 1946 undefeated Clover Farms Baseball team. George was also selected to Reesers All Star Team where he was the leadoff hitter at First Energy Stadium (Municipal Stadium). He was President of Frank P. Heller and Co. Plumbing business for 48 years where he retired in 1990. George is survived by two sons, G. Michael, husband of JoAnn W., of Crestwood, and James R., husband of Inger, of Downingtown; and one daughter, Suzanne M., wife of the late Robert Drazba, of Brownstown. He is also survived by one brother, Frank R. "Rit", husband of Mildred, of Reading; and four grandchildren: Danielle, wife of Matt Cole, Derrick, Desiree and Lizzie Heller; and great-granddaughter, McKenna Cole.

He was predeceased by two sons, Gregory and Richard J., husband of Patti L., of Reading.

Visitation with family and friends on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph R.C.C.-Reading, 1018 N. 8th Street Reading, PA 19604. Interment is private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Joseph R.C.C. Memorial Fund at the above address. The family would like to thank the staff of Berks Heim for their love and care.
