The Life of JASON M. DUNLAP

 
Jason Michael Dunlap, 50 of Muhlenberg Township, passed away May 31, 2021 at Penn State Health - St. Joseph, surrounded by his loving family. Born, February 8, 1971, in West Reading, PA, he was a son of Rose Marie (Cotton) Dunlap and the late Darwin Dwight Dunlap. Jason was a 1989 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1993 graduate of St. Joseph School of Radiology. He was employed with St. Joseph Medical Center, starting as a CT tech, and completing his career as an emergency management coordinator. Jason was an assistant scout master of Boy Scout Troop #161, a volunteer firefighter with the former Goodwill Fire Company, Muhlenberg Township, and an EMT. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping; he loved music and played multiple instruments. He loved taking care of others, which is what he spent his life doing. He is survived by his four children: Nicholas D. Dunlap of Ephrata; Jocelyn N. Dunlap, Ryan P. Dunlap, and Christian J. Dunlap, and their mother, Colleen Ann (Schmehl) Dunlap, all of Muhlenberg Township. Also surviving are his siblings, John Dunlap, husband of Dawn of Pittsburgh; and Joseph Dunlap of Hamburg. In addition, he is survived by his girlfriend Jennifer Quinn of Schuylkill Haven. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Jason’s Penn State Health - St. Joseph family, for their support and love both throughout his life and during his final moments. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 5th at 11am at Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605. The mass will be live-streamed for those unable to attend, and can be accessed at the bottom of his obituary page at www.Stitzels.com. Viewings will be held Friday evening from 5-7pm and again on Saturday from 9-10:30am at the Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. Burial, alongside his late father, will follow the mass at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
