The Life of CLARENCE WILBUR CLEMENT Jr.

Clarence W. Clement, 94, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2013. Clarence was born in Philadelphia, PA January 23, 1919 to Clarence Sr., and Reba Clement. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Hobby during World War II. He married Cleo M. Whitson on December 9, 1943.Clarence worked as a Printer and Building Superintendent for over 40 years for Farmer’s Mutual Hail Insurance Co. of Des Moines. Clem came to know Jesus Christ as his personal savior, as a young man, at the First Brethren Church of Des Moines. He served in various ministries at Grandview Park Baptist Church for 50 years including Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Trustee and Greeter. He is preceded in death by his parents: Clarence Sr. and Reba Clement; and his three sisters: Myrtle Thompson, Beverley Barnes, and Virginia Dulaney. He is survived by one sister, Mary Marshall, of Des Moines; three children, Michael (Lynn) Clement, Marsha (Eric) Rasmussen, and Timothy (Dianne) Clement, all of Des Moines, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. Family and friends visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., July 26, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Grandview Park Baptist Church, 1701 E 33rd Street. Burial with honors, will be held on July 27, 2013, at Highland Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be made to Grandview Park Baptist Church of Des Moines, in his memory.
