The Life of DE LORA IRENE HODGES
DeLora Irene Hodges, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Urbandale, IA. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013, also at Westover Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
DeLora was born on January 22, 1924, in Marshalltown, IA. She married William Hodges in 1948 in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA. They made their home in Des Moines. She loved to read, paint, play the piano, and spend time with her grandchildren. DeLora was fondly known as "Skip-Bo" Grandma, never ever cheating at the game.
DeLora will be missed by her children, Vicki (Ben) Guise and son, Dan Hodges, all of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Matt (Beth) Guise of Packwood, Bryan Guise of Des Moines, Adam (Carrie Fessler) Guise of Omaha, NE, Eric (Jamie) Hodges of Fayetteville, NC, and Shannon (Rob) Adams of Des Moines; and ten great grandchildren, Malachi, Kaleb, Isaiah, Barrett, Brandon, Brett, Ben, Abby, Harper, and Liam. She was preceded in death by her hsuband, William Hodges; her mother, Margaret Trent and father, Charles Mitchell; brother, Ray Mitchell; and sister, Betty Pace.
