The Life of BETTY LOUISE POE MCNELEY
Betty Louise Poe McNeley, 83, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Russellville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at University Park and Rehabilitation Center in Des Moines. In agreement with her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or services held at this time. A private family graveside service will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Betty was born on November 17, 1929 in Russellville, Arkansas, to Joe Columbus and Bessie Caroline (Jones) Poe. She lived most of her life in Des Moines and retired back to Russellville. In 1998, Betty moved back to Des Moines, where she resided until her passing. She was a loving, caring and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend; Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Linda Conrad and her husband, Ron of Omaha, NE, Connie Wallukait of Des Moines and Kathy "Kris" McNeley of Baxter, IA; sister, Barbara Hemmer and her husband, Jim of Dover, AR; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded into eternal life by her parents; son, Michael John McNeley; and two brothers, Bill Poe and Edgar Allan Poe.
