The Life of Anna Adamovich Stepnek

Anna Stepnek, age 87 of Shelton, widow of Louis Stepnek, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the home of her daughter with her loving family at her side. Born in Derby, CT on July 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Justina (Filak) Adamovich. Anna attended local schools and graduated from Derby High School. She formerly worked as a secretary at B.F. Goodrich Sponge Products and was also a former sales clerk at the Shelton Factory Shoe Outlet. Anna was a lifelong member of Three Saints Orthodox Church in Ansonia. Anna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Tom Turaj of Shelton; cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Turaj, Douglas Turaj and Michael Turaj; sister Eva Turaj of Ansonia; and nephew Gregory Turaj. In addition to her husband and her parents, Anna was predeceased by two infant daughters Anna and Justina. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 8:30am from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, to Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia for a Service at 9:30am. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A Parastas Service will be held Tuesday at 6:45pm. The family would like to thank Constellation Home Care Hospice for the care and comfort that they provided, and special thanks to Gail Chaffee, RN, and Chaplain Lauren Cetlin.
