The Life of JANET ANN SANDBERG

Janet Sandberg was born on August 25, 1942, in Council Bluffs, IA. She grew to adulthood in the Shelby area and graduated from Shelby-Tennant Community School in 1960. After high school she attended business school in Omaha, and obtained employment at various jobs through the years. In 1974, she moved to Des Moines where she married B. Charles Sandberg. They made their home in Des Moines, and Janet worked for the Iowa Court of Appeals for over 25 years. Charlie passed away in 2003. Following her retirement she moved to West Des Moines where she became active in Grace West Church, and spent much time crocheting and reading. She enjoyed her grandsons and her many friends. She passed away on June 28, 2013, in Johnston, IA, after an extended illness. Surviving are her step-son, Andy Sandberg; his two sons, Brandon and Cody; sister, Linda Zimmerman of Shelby; sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many friends whom she treasured dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace West Church.
