The Life of GARY LAYTON HANSEN
Gary L. Hansen, 50, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, in Des Moines, surrounded by his family. He was born January 23, 1963, in Des Moines, son of Carl and Donna Hansen.
Gary graduated from North High School in 1981. He was a skilled brick and stone mason by trade. Gary enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and spending his summers at Cutty’s.
Gary is survived by his wife, Larisa Hansen; children, Blake, Bradley, and Breanna; step-son, Bogdan Gilmutdinov; grandchildren, Bentley Haywood and Elli Jo Sandy; mother, Donna Hansen; siblings, Carla Kauzlarich, Craig (Myra) Hansen; Steve (Audrey Rivas) Hansen, Bryan (Charlene) Hansen, and Joy (David Hibbs) Long; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Hansen.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
