The Life of Marian M Shallenberger

Marian M. Shallenberger, age 86 of Columbiana passed peacefully at St. Elizabeth-Boardman Campus. Marian was born Marian M. Schultz on May 1, 1927 in Youngstown, to Albert C. and Theresa Piper Schultz. She grew up on the east side of Youngstown where her father and brother owned and operated a Mobil gas station. After graduating from East High in 1946, Marian married Robert E. Shallenberger at the Chapel of Friendly Belle Trinity United Methodist Church on October 1, 1948. The couple settled in Liberty Township. Marian worked for Dun and Bradstreet as a secretary for 26 years to the manager of the Youngstown office. After retiring Marian went on to work as a florist for Higley’s Florist on Mahoning Avenue. Marian was an active member of the YMCA-Boardman and the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 278. Marian was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leetonia. Marian leavers her husband, Robert, a nephew Mark Albert (Cindy) and three great nephews, Kevin, Scott and Brian of Cortland and a niece Carolyn Albert of Berea. She is preceded in death by a twin brother, Myron and a sister Wilma Albert (James). A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, May 18, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market, Boardman with calling hours from 10:00-11:00 a.m
