The Life of Sr. Martin W. Lawlor

Martin W. "Marty" Lawlor Sr., husband of 55 years to Joan Kuspinsky Lawlor and resident of Ansonia, died surrounded by his loving family on May 13. He was born July 18, 1937 in Derby, son of the late Joseph T. & Jean Estop Lawlor. A graduate of the Assumption School (1951) and Ansonia High School, (1955) Martin worked as a postal clerk for City of Ansonia for 39 years. He was also a member of Ansonia's Lavender Grid Iron Club and Football Hall of Fame and 50 year member & Past Captain & Treasurer for Charters Hose Fire Company. In addition to his wife Joan, he leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Martin W. Lawlor Jr. & his wife Sharon of Ansonia, John D. Lawlor & his wife Eileen of Ansonia, daughter Karen M. Bilodeau & her husband Ronald of Ansonia, brother Joseph Lawlor of Newington, CT and eight grandchildren, Sarah & Ronald Bilodeau, Merissa & Martin Lawlor and Tierney, Rorey, Grady & Shanley Lawlor and great granddaughter Kali Morrow, all of Ansonia. He was predeceased by his son Thomas J. Lawlor in 1991. Friends may call on Wednesday (TODAY) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday May 16 at 10:00 a.m., with friends asked to go directly to The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia.
