The Life of CHARLES MILLS EDGETT

Chuck M. Edgett, 85, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was born April 30, 1928, in Salem, Oregon. Chuck was a truck driver for Yellow Freight for 42 years. Chuck enjoyed fishing, but his greatest passion was bowling. He bowled at Premier Bowling on Tuesday mornings and Saturday evenings. Chuck was a member of the US Bowling Congress and inducted into the Greater Des Moines Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2005. Chuck is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Don) Hargrave; step-son, Richard (Susie) Lasher; step-daughter, Marylin (Michael) Neal; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Darlene (Rodger) Sanman; brother, Marvin Edgett; and former daughter-in-law, Susan K. Speck. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Murriel “Skeet,” and one brother. Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m., with services to follow at 1:00 p.m., Thursday May 16, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
