The Life of LEONA E SWITEK
She was predeceased by her husband, Jesse J. Switek on December 31, 1997.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Amanda (Gehret) Curtier.
She is survived by her son, Jan J., husband of Brandi
Switek, of Womelsdorf, and her daughter, Janice S. (Switek), wife of Jack Hess, of Titusville, Fla. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Sarah Farrell, and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Farrell. Mrs. Switek is also survived by her sister, Annabelle, widow of Benjamin Trudnowski, of Womelsdorf; and her close niece, Sherry Davis, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers: Benjamin, Leroy and Thomas; and her sisters: Margaret, Laura and Dorothy.
Mrs. Switek was a parishioner of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
She was employed by the Reading School District as a
culinary assistant for 20 years and also worked at the YMCA in food service.
Relatives and friends may extend their sympathy and
respects to the family on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 151 N. 9th St., Reading, PA 19601.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Twp.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Stone Ridge Retirement Village, 440 E. Lincoln Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067 in memory of Mrs. Leona E. Switek.
