The Life of Theodore Peter Klarides
Theodore Peter Klarides, age 87, of Manalapan, FL, formerly of Oxford and Middlebury, the beloved husband of 64 years of Mary Alexander Klarides, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Derby on November 7, 1925, son of the late Kostas and Amelia Daniel Klarides. Ted was a member of St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church of Boca Raton, FL. He was an owner and president of Klarides Supermarket of Seymour and Derby and developed Klarides Village Shopping Center. Ted served with the United States Air Force during World War II and also attended New Haven College. He served on several municipal boards including the Board of Finance and the Zoning Board of Appeals in Seymour and the Oxford Economic Development Commission. Ted was a Director of Great Country Bank, a Trustee of Griffin Hospital and served on the Board of Directors of La Coquille Villas of Manalapan, FL. He was also a member of the New York Stock Exchange. Ted will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his loving wife Mary, Ted leaves his caring daughters Theodora E. Klarides and her partner Richard E. Fonte of Ocean Ridge, FL and Constance K. Cheever and her husband David B. Cheever of Roxbury, his grandchildren, who each held a special place in his heart, Jessica L. Cheever and her fiancé Steven Bottini, Alexandra G. Cheever, Kyley E. Cheever and Luke D. Cheever. He also leaves his loving brother Peter Klarides and his wife Theodora of Seymour, an aunt and uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved brothers James K. Klarides and Nicholas Klarides and his cherished niece Lisa Ann Klarides. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Ted''s life will be held DIRECTLY at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Interment in the family plot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia will follow. The Miller-Ward Funeral Home of Seymour is caring for the family.
