The Life of Sophia Solima Zasun

Sophia Zasun, 86, of Seymour, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2013, at Shady Knoll Health Care in Seymour. She was the beloved wife of Antoni Zasun. Mrs. Zasun was born in Poland on Jan. 8, 1927, daughter of the late John and Anna Zymanski Solima. A resident of Seymour since 1956, she was employed at Teledyne in Ansonia for many years until her retirement. Sophia loved and deeply cared for her family and especially enjoyed the many Polish Easter traditions. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a loving son, Anthony Zasun of Seymour, 3 loving daughters, Christine Szwaba (Zenon) of Naugatuck, Diane Kuzma (Stanley) of Beacon Falls, and Julie D''Onofrio (Pat) of Shelton, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 15, 2013, from 5-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 8:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at St. Joseph''s Church in Ansonia.
