The Life of CLIFFORD LaVERN SQUIRES Sr.
Clifford L. Squires, Sr., 71, passed away March 10, 2013, at his home in Trenton, Missouri. He was born December 22, 1941, in Waucoma, Iowa, son of Lyle and Ruth Squires.
Clifford was a handyman who enjoyed messing around in his garage. He spent most of his free time painting and building houses, and gardening. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Sharon of 52 years; four children, Clifford L. Squires, Jr. (Linda), of Des Moines; Sherry Warner of Trenton, MO, Shane Squires of Altoona, and Melissa Dyer (Ron) of Trenton; grandchildren, Shawn, Christina, Daniel, Heather, Erin (Sam), Dusty, Tyler, and Brittney; four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and 11 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Delores and Peg, both of Des Moines, and Sandy of Roche Port, MO; as well as one brother, Frank Squires of Des Moines. Clifford was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Squires; his parents; brother, Lyle; and his sisters, Dorothy, Lillian, Virginia, Pat, Jauwan, and Jean.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.
