The Life of Kathleen Murray Elmy
Kathleen (Kath) M. Elmy, 71, of Ansonia passed December 26, 2009 at St. Raphael's Hospital. She was the loving wife and high school sweetheart of Frederick Elmy Jr. Born in Nanticoke, PA on May 25, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Helen Murray. Kath graduated from Women's Medical School in Philadelphia, PA as a Registered NUrse and was employed many years as a R.N. with Hospice of Branford and Regional Visiting Nurses of Hamden, from which she retired. During retirement, she was a Valley Parish Nurse and volunteered in various activities. Kathleen loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her & her husband of 51 years enjoyed summers at their lake house in MA with their many friends and family, especially on July 4th, Kath & Fred enjoyed vacationing in Europe & throughout the U.S. and visiting their son in GA. She was an active member of the Church of the Assumption, Ansonia. She was the loving mother of Sylvia Ann and her husband Ronald Dumond of Lebanon, CT, Frederick J. Elmy & his wife Lisa of Oxford, Joseph J. Elmy & his wife Jane of Acworth, GA, Brian J. Elmy & his wife Eliza of Manchester, CT and Keith T. Elmy & his wife Lynn of Colchester. Kath is the loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren, Michael, Chelsey & Jonathon Dumond; Ryan, Arianne & Alexa Elmy; Justin, Dylan & Zachary Elmy; Rachael & Alyssa Elmy and Kyle, Lauren & Connor Elmy. She is survived by her brother Joseph Murray & his wife Vita Grace of Nanticoke, PA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at the Church of the Assumption. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. The Bennett Funeral Home Ansonia is entrusted with the arrangements.
