The Life of BETTY ANN LEPELTAK

Betty Ann Lepeltak, 83, formerly of Urbandale, passed from this life on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Kennybrook Village in Grimes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 14, at Iles Funeral Homes, Westover Chapel in Des Moines, where the family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service time on Monday. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines. Betty was born on June 6, 1929 in Colo, Iowa, to David and Dorothy (Stiles) Mulcahy. She was a 1947 graduate of North High School. In 1950, Betty married Walter Lepeltak in Des Moines. In addition to being a homemaker all her life, she was also employed with Iowa Periodicals as a Supervisor for nearly 25 years. Betty was a member of Douglas Avenue Presbyterian Church. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her two grandchildren, Steven Lepeltak of Beaverdale and Leslie Lepeltak of Denver, CO; daughter-in-law, Tracy Lepeltak of Waukee; sister, Elaine Sorensen of Urbandale; two sisters-in-law, Janice Mulcahy of Des Moines and Beth Mulcahy of Cedar Rapids; several nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Lorie Christensen of Durham, NC. Betty was preceded into eternal life by her parents; husband, Walter Lepeltak; two brothers, Bud and Bob Mulcahy; and son, John Lepeltak on January 18, 2012. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Kennybrook Village and St. Jude''s Hospice for their endless care, love and support during Betty''s illness. The family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made in her name to either Kennybrook Village or Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
