The Life of Anne G Gottberg

ANNE G. GOTTBERG STRUTHERS – Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc. for Anne G. Gottberg, 87, who died Jan. 8, 2013, at Hospice House. She was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Perth Amboy, N.J., a daughter of the late George and Mary Szucsik Garansi. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, gardening, crocheting and taking care of her grandchildren. Anne is survived by her children, Gary A. Gottberg of Coitsville, Dale R. (Bernadette) Gottberg of Struthers, Brian L. (Patricia) Gottberg of South Charleston, W.Va., Susanne M. Soich of Youngstown and Sandra L. (Thomas) Olmi of Struthers; a brother, Stephen Garansi of Riverside, N.J.; five sisters, Helen Haley of Allentown, N.J., Barbara Hodros of Youngstown, Margaret Johnson of Fort Wayne, Ind., Catherine Stout of Groveville, N.J. and Alice Elgrim of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Kristen, Alyssa, Jennifer, Roxanne, Elizabeth, Dale Jr., Erin, Chad, Keith and Kira; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford M. Gottberg, whom she married Oct. 22, 1949, and who died Feb. 28, 1998; two brothers, John and George Garansi; and three sisters, Irene Ansilio, Mary Hlivak and Elizabeth Rinyu. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers. Burial will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made to Hospice House.
