The Life of William E Kellner

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 12:30 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for William E. Kellner, 87, who died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Entombment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery Mausoleum. Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing "On Eagles'' Wings", "23rd Psalm", and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" for the services. Survivors include his beloved wife, Frances Kellner, one daughter, Connie Kellner Etier and husband Brian, one son, Bill Kellner and his wife Mary, six grandchildren, Will Kellner and wife Virginia, Courtney Kellner Kahn and husband Chris, Kyle Kellner and wife Stefanie, Adam Angers and wife Nicole, Abby Angers Nicolosi and husband Beau, and Ali Angers; and four great grandchildren, Annie Angers, Joe Angers, James Kahn, and William Kellner. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marjorie Foret Kellner, and his parents Walter and Elizabeth B. Kellner. Mr. William E. Kellner was born on May 31, 1925 in Winona, MS and was a resident in Lafayette for sixty six years. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. He graduated from SLI (now ULL) in 1949 and was self-employed from 1963 to 2003 and was presently employed by Darnall Sikes, CPA. He was a member of the Lions Club, Beavers Club, Lafayette Town House, Petroleum Club, and Oakbourne Country Club. Mr. Kellner will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. Pallbearers will be Will Kellner, Kyle Kellner, Chris Kahn, Chris Verret, Adam Angers, and Larry Sikes. Honorary Pallbearers will be the late Dwight W. Andrus, Sr., Dwight W. Andrus, Jr., the late Johnny Rock, the late Ewing Latimer, the late Byron Vermillion, Gerald Greig, Dr. Sweeny Smith, and George Berry. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
