The Life of DONNA MARIE DOUGLASS

Donna M. Douglass, 91, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Altoona Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Donna was born September 20, 1921, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to John and Cora Slater. She moved to the Des Moines area in 1936. Donna was a cook at Stowe Elementary School for 14 years. She was a member of Staves United Methodist Church. Donna loved reading, music and spending time with her grandchildren. Donna is survived by her son, Scott (Amy) Douglass; daughter, Linda (Curtis) Alexander; sister, Bonnie Jean Brooks; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Janet and Mae; and her loving husband of 53 years, Robert J. Douglass, who passed away in 1993. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.; Thursday, January 3, 2013; at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League.
