The Life of ROBERT LEE STOKER
Robert Lee Stoker, 89, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Robert was born on August 14, 1923, in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Lee Roy and Lois Stoker. Robert was raised and educated in Des Moines. He served in the United States Army during World War II and also in the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to the United States to be self-employed. He later was employed by the Swift Company.
Robert married Gladys Lindell in December, 1954.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by three cousins, including David Stoker of Des Moines, Iowa.
