The Life of EDWARD DEE TURNIPSEED
Ed Turnipseed, 77, died Thursday, November 1, 2012, at his home in Johnston. He was born May 14, 1935, in Des Moines, to John and Frankie Turnipseed.
Ed worked at Super Value for 40 years, was a member of VFW 9662 and First Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed playing cards, building things, and just sitting and soaking up the sun. Ed was a fan of football, NASCAR, and golf. He was ornery and had a good sense of humor.
Ed is survived by his children, Rick Turnipseed and Pam (Bryan) Tingley; step-children, Kelly (Melody) Bethards, Tracy (Debbie) Bethards, and Tony (Cathy) Bethards; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Bernadine Coy; brother, Bernard Turnipseed; other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; two sons, Stephen and Rory.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Tuesday November 6, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, in Des Moines. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
