The Life of THEDA MAE HANS
Theda, age 94, died Tuesday, October 2 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk.
A Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Ave Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 3 at Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road Urbandale. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Theda was born September 15, 1918 in Radcliffe, IA to Raymond Classon and Anna Olson Classon. Theda grew up in Ellsworth, IA and graduated with a Cosmetology license. She married Edward Hans on October 15, 1949. They lived on the north side of Des Moines from 1949 to 2006. She lived with her daughter, Cathy for 2 years before living at the Regency Care Center in Norwalk. She belonged to the Iowa Association for the Deaf, and enjoyed watching soap operas, Twix candy bars, and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2001; and her son, Joseph in 1987. Theda is survived by her daughters, Catherine Olson (Stephen) of Prole, IA and Rayanne Porter (Bob) of Ankeny, IA; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy Olson, Anna Mauro (Dan), and Brianna Olson; 4 great-grandchildren, Blake Schroeder, Cody Olson, Connor Olson, and Alayna Olson.
