The Life of Helen Malagarie
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Delhomme Funeral Home of Broussard for Helen Harkrider Malagarie, 93, who passed away on September 15, 2012 at 7:15 am at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Reverend Zachary Sasser, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.
Entombment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Malagarie, a resident of Broussard, LA, was the daughter of the late Ben Harkrider of Sherman, Texas and the former Ruth Johnson of Hillsboro, Texas. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lafayette. She was a Life Master Bridge Player and was a member of Acadiana Bridge Club. She loved attending church on Sundays.
She is survived by one son, Frank Malagarie and his wife Sarah of Shalimar, FL; three grandsons, Robert Malagarie and wife Myra of Lafayette, John Malagarie and wife Susie of Tallahassee, FL, and Scott Malagarie of Broussard, LA; five great grandchildren, Matthew Malagarie, Hunter Malagarie, Ellen Malagarie, Jaden Malagarie, and Evan Malagarie; and two step great grandchildren, Brooke Chambers and Matthew Chambers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George W. Malagarie; one brother, Ben Harkrider; and one sister, Ruth Gilley.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Broussard on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 8:00 am until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Robert, John, Scott, Matthew, and Hunter Malagarie, and Matthew Chambers. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn, Howard and George Gilley.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 111 North Washington Street, Broussard, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
