The Life of Lillian Echevarria Nieves

Lillian "Lily" Nieves, age 49, of Ansonia, died peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2012, at CT Hospice, Branford, surrounded by her family. Born in Bridgeport on March 25, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Angel Echevarria and Ana Celia Feliciano Echevarria Santiago of Bridgeport. Ms. Nieves was an Ansonia resident for 28 years, previously of Bridgeport. She worked as a Moderator for Prometeric of Hamden, until the time of her illness. She was formerly employed with the Naturopathic Center of Wilton, where she worked for many years. Ms. Nieves was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church of Ansonia and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Catholic War veterans of Derby. She is survived by her devoted sons, Ramon Nieves, Jr. and Raul Nieves, both of Ansonia; beloved brothers and sisters, Julio "Ech" Echevarria of Orange, Edgar Echevarria of NYC, Lourdes Malve of Bridgeport, Ricardo Echevarria of West Haven, Mayra Echevarria of Bridgeport and Miriam Echevarria of North Haven; cherished grandsons, Elijah Angel Nieves and R'mohni Jiovanni Nieves, both of Ansonia; also survived by her former spouse, Ramon Nieves, Sr. of Waterbury and stepfather, Jose Santiago of Bridgeport; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 7, 2012, at a time to be announced, from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
