The Life of Medice C Waguespack
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Medice C. Waguespack, 95, who died on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home in Lafayette. Reverend Gilbert Dutel, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church, was the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass. A Graveside Service was held in Lafayette Memorial Park, conducted by Reverend Kevin Bordelon, Associate Pastor of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette.
Survivors include her daughter, Melba Dean W. Billeaud; one son, Burnell Waguespack and his wife Jo Ann; three grandchildren, Tammy Billeaud, Brent Waguespack and his wife Melissa, and Brian Waguespack and his wife April; six great grandchildren, Kaelyn Hebert, Cole Waguespack, Cade Waguespack, Addie Waguespack, Maci Waguespack and Tyson Waguespack; and one brother, Gilfred Credeur.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oran Waguespack; one grandson, Mark Rene Billeaud; parents, Onezime and Belzire Trahan Credeur; five sisters, Ida Leon, Della Chiasson, Edesse Credeur, Vinay Miller and Bernice Credeur; and one son-in-law, Merlin Billeaud.
A native of Rayne and a resident of Lafayette, Medice Waguespack was a devout Catholic, who prayed the Rosary several times a day. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Brent Waguespack, Brian Waguespack, Burnell Waguespack, Danny Credeur, Allen Credeur and Vernon Credeur. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gilfred Credeur.
Visitation will be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed by Ray Domingue on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
