The Life of Irene Florence Takacs

Irene F. (Isaksen) Takacs, 93, of Mentor and formerly of Cleveland and Maine, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at Altercare of Mentor. Born Jan. 23, 1919, in Claremont, N.H., Mrs. Takacs graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine. Irene and her husband owned and operated Vibar Construction Company until their retirement. She also worked for Pemco in Independence for many years. She loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Limon of Mentor; grandchildren, Julie (Patrick) Gable of Painesville Township and Chad (Laura) Limon of Phoenix, Ariz.; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Brennan and Sofia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Victor; parents, Emil and Alice Isaksen; brother, Norm Isaksen; sister, Joyce Crofoot; and son-in-law, Stanley Limon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
