The Life of Lois Young

Lois Young of Ansonia entered into eternal rest on July 17, 2012. She was born in Derby, the daughter of Lewis B. & Martha (Renker) Young. She was a graduate of Ansonia High School and Smith College. Lois worked at the Yale Medical School and the Foundations' Fund for Research in Psychiatry at Yale for many years until her retirement. Being a parishioner of Christ Church Ansonia, Miss Young was a member of the Episcopal Church Women and served on the vestry. A long serving member of the Derby Historical Society, Lois also was a member of the Smith College Club in New Haven. Enjoyment was found in travel, bridge, golf and bowling. She is survived by a niece, Elizabeth Heintz of New Castle, IN., two grand nephews and several cousins. Friends and neighbors were cherished companions. Lois was predeceased by a sister, Harriet E. Young and a brother Edwin Young. Funeral services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 56 S. Cliff St. Ansonia, CT on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Church, 56. S. Cliff St. Ansonia, CT 06401 or The Derby Historical Society, Inc. 37 Elm Street, Ansonia, CT 006401.
