The Life of Dorothy Oldershaw Cole

Dorothy Oldershaw Cole, 97, formerly of Waterbury, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Masonicare, Wallingford. She was the widow of Charles Chatfield Cole. Born in Ansonia, she was the daughter of the late Starr and Sue (Martinez) Oldershaw. She lived most of her life in Waterbury, moving to Ashlar Village in Wallingford in 1991. A graduate of Post College, she worked as an executive secretary for several Waterbury companies and retired as a legal secretary in the Attorney General’s office, Labor Department, Wethersfield. She was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Waterbury. She is survived by a son, Charles C. Cole, Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Allentown, PA, two grandsons, Charles C. Cole III and his wife, Shara, of Weston, FL and Christopher A. Cole and his wife, Donna, of Hunt Valley, MD and three great grandchildren. Arrangements-Services for Dorothy will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 19,2012 at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave
