The Life of ELNA LAVERNE TEMBY
Elna Temby, 96, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Taylor House Hospice.
Elna was born on February 19, 1916, in Des Moines, to Jennie May (Williams) and Henry Green. She worked as a homemaker, and took great pride in her home and her family. She was a member of Fort Des Moines United Methodist Church.
Elna is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Robert) Foreman of Des Moines, Terry (Larry) Welch of Holiday Island, Arkansas, and Judith Prothero, also of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilford John Temby, two brothers, and one sister.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a visitation for two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
