The Life of DONNA MAY COWGILL
Donna May Swertfager Cowgill, 85, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born February 25, 1927 in Des Moines to Charles and Della (Carpenter) Swertfager.
Donna graduated from East High School and married Clifford Watson Cowgill who preceded her in death in 1985. She was an active and contributing member of Easton Place United Methodist Church. Donna was also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 89 and Lay Street Entertainers.
Donna was proud to be associated with the Graham Group and Mercy Medical Plaza where she worked at the information desk. She enjoyed her job and cherished her fellow employees, work friends, and patients.
Donna is survived by her nephew, Jerry (Sherry) Swertfager and their children, Chad (Reeve) Swertfager and Jodi (David) Van Rossum; niece, Kay (Lee) Kerr and her son, Chuck Toomer; and many beloved friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Easton Place United Methodist Church, 2412 Easton Blvd, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
