The Life of MADONNA JEAN WOOD
Madonna "Donna" J. Wood, 72, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. vigil service Monday, June 25, at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First St., Ankeny. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church, 510 E. 1st St, Ankeny. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.
Donna was born August 2, 1939 in Des Moines. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1957. She worked at Wiley Opticians and Broadlawns Medical Center. Donna married Jim Wood August 8, 1959 in Des Moines. She enjoyed reading, shopping and was very devoted to her family.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Wood Sr. of Ankeny; sons, Bill (Julie) Wood and Jeff (Angie) Wood all of Ankeny; daughter-in-law, Joanne (Larry) Webb of Ankeny; grandchildren, Abbie (Andrew) Martin, Ashley (Evan) Stamey, Miranda Wood, Angie (Mike) Peterson, Traci (Noah) Amerson, and Christopher Thompson; great-grandchildren, Ryne Martin, Alyssia Sheriff, Jesse, Daniel and Noah Peterson, Bailey, Jenna and Emma Amerson, and Braeden Thompson; sister, Sandra Davidson of Windsor Heights, brother, Jack Davidson of Windsor Heights; mother, Alma Davidson of Windsor Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann VanZandt; brother, Mike Davidson; and son, Jimmy Wood Jr.
