The Life of BETTY ANN PALMER

Betty Palmer, 66, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at her home in Ankeny. She was born September 4, 1945, in Leon, Iowa, to Lyle and Hazel Hembry. Betty graduated from Clarke County Community Schools and on December 22, 1963, married Robert Elwood Palmer. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church Organization for many years. Betty enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events, cooking, baking and especially spending time with her family and her dog, Chloe. Betty is survived by her children, Tracey (Doug) Goforth, Robbie (Kellie) Palmer, and Kevin (Heidi) Palmer; grandchildren, Jared and Stephen Goforth, Grant and Grayson Phillips, Teddy, Madison, Kennedy and Jackson Palmer; sister, Louise Mason; brother-in-law, Dick (Sande) Palmer; sisters-in-law, Carol Palmer and Cheryl Hembry; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; brother, Fred Hembry; sister, Linda Hembry; brothers-in-law, Bob Mason and Donovan Palmer. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2012, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 SW Walnut Street, Ankeny, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, June 24, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be given to the family in loving memory of Betty.
