The Life of Carolyn Pedevillano Lotto

Carolyn N. (Pedevillano) Lotto, 96, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday evening June 17, 2012, in the comfort of her home in Pompano Beach, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew A. Lotto. Mrs. Lotto was born in Bayonne, NJ on May 5, 1916, daughter of the late Joseph and Nicolina Gugliuzzi Pedevillano. She was a resident of Ansonia for most of her life and after her retirement, spent many winters in Florida, before finally moving there last year. She was employed as a seamstress at the former Valley Dress Shop and as a sales clerk at the former Grant’s Department Store both in Ansonia. Carolyn was a woman of great faith and enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by four sons, Anthony Lotto of Ansonia, Andrea A. Lotto Jr. of FL, John J. Lotto (Rose) of Ansonia, and Kenneth P. Lotto of Waterbury, two daughters, Joanne Evans of Ansonia and Angela M. Lotto of FL, four brothers, John Pedevillano of Ansonia, Samuel Pedevillano of FL, Joseph Pedevillano of Seymour, and Frank Pedevillano of Ansonia, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son in law, William “Fessy” Evans Sr., a daughter in law, Irene Lotto, a granddaughter, Lisa Lotto, a brother, Anthony Pedevillano, and a sister, Josephine Valenti. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday June 21, 2012, at 9:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. Visiting hours will be held on WEDNESDAY from 4-8 pm.
