The Life of DONNA JEAN SNETSELAAR
Donna Snetselaar, 67, a devoted mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2012, from complications of lung cancer. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Bethany Reformed Church, 720 NE 52nd Avenue in Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Donna grew up in Johnston, moved to Altoona where she raised her children; and later moved to Des Moines. She loved her church family and working at Dahl’s. She loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs, and Iowa State Men’s Basketball and Football. She also enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows, and any meal that she didn’t have to cook herself!
Donna is survived by her loving husband, John; her son, Mike Saunders; her daughter Debbie (Gary) Cron; and her grandchildren: Ashley and Adam Cron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Mildred Theisen; her brother Wayne Thompson; her sister Nancy Parkhurst; and her niece Joyce Palmer.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Reformed Church or Iowa Health Systems Hospice in loving memory of Donna.
