The Life of DONALD LAVERNE STROMBERG

Donald L. Stromberg, 95, took his journey from this earth into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Berean Assembly of God, 5299 East University Avenue, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, at the church. Donald Laverne Stromberg was born in Des Moines on November 25, 1916, to Oscar and Ellen (Olson) Stromberg. He grew up in Des Moines and graduated from East High School. On July 14, 1939, Don married Betty Shultice until her passing. Don was employed by Anderson Erickson Dairy for 23 years, later retiring as a printer for Easter Seals in 1981. On May 10, 1975, Don was united in marriage to Louise Pauley. The couple has been faithful members of Berean Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Louise; sons, Richard Stromberg of Mexico, David Stromberg of Norwalk, and Douglas Stromberg of Florida; step-sons, Larry Pauley, and Dennis Pauley; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty; step-sons, Ronald Pauley and Nolan Pauley; sisters, Lois Johnson and Margaret Houser; grandson, Scott Stromberg; and great-grandson, Ethan De Vries.
