The Life of LARRY LEE PEARSON
Larry Lee Pearson, 78, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines. Private burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Larry was born on July 8, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa to Esther (Larson) and Edwin Pearson. Larry grew up in Des Moines and attended East High School. He married Harriett Lettington on June 7, 1952 in Des Moines. Larry worked for 43 years at Meredith Burda/R.R. Donnelly, retiring in 1998.
Larry had a love for rebuilding antique cars and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a 50 member of Union Park Masonic Lodge #592
Larry is survived by his wife, Harriett, his children, Steven (Connie) Pearson and Mark (Mary) Pearson and Diane (Mark) Boehm all of Urbandale, and Joni (Kevin) Jones of West Des Moines; 11 grandchildren, Amy, Ashley, Amanda, Katie, Nick, Beth, Janey, Nate, Kim, Justin and Jared; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, brother, Howard W. Pearson and his granddaughter, June Ann Clark.
Family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HCI Care Services, American Lung Association or American Heart Association.
